RAPHAËL PANNIER QUARTET
Open JAZZ

Born in Paris in 1990, Raphaël discovered the drums at the age of 5, and began to perform on stage when he was 13 years old.

In 2010, he obtained a scholarship for the Berklee College of Music in Boston. With his diploma in hand, he moved to New York in 2014,

and won a new scholarship to pursue a Masters at Manhattan School of Music.

His first album "Faune" (French Paradox, September 2020), recorded with the brilliant Miguel Zenón, Aaron Goldberg and François Moutin,

As soon as it is released, it receives the best national and international press reviews.

Constantly listening, Raphaël evolves like a feline on the instrument. Its a game is fine, powerful, generous,

not without recalling the maturity of Tony Williams, the dynamics of Brian Blade, or even the modern density of Chris Dave.

His compositions embellish a demanding jazz, brilliantly mixing interaction, trance, and harmonic richness.

Back in France and freshly installed in Paris, Raphaël Pannier is in high demand as a sideman.

He will be on tour with his quartet from next summer + season 22/23.
