Dreamlike Songs

Since 2019, mohs. has risen to the heart of European jazz with remarkable stage appearances and two captivating albums. The talented Swiss quartet today announces the release of a third opus, entitled Baïne.

Originally, guitarist Erwan Valazza and trumpeter Zacharie Ksyk, both from the jazz scene, sought to create their own musical universe and surrounded themselves with the talented Gaspard Colin on bass and Nathan Vandenbulcke on drums. Blending acoustic instruments and electronic effects, they invite the public to follow them in their quest for sonic landscapes. The quartet is productive, generous, and sprinkles its jazz with numerous stylistic references while crafting finely chiseled melodies... at the foot of the Alps. A nod to the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, which allows minerals to be classified according to their hardness, from talc to diamond. That was all it took to find the band's name... mohs.

A "coup de cœur" selection at the Swiss festivals JazzContreband and Diagonales Jazz, mohs. has conquered numerous stages including the Cully Jazz Festival, the AMR in Geneva, the Duc des Lombards, and has opened for internationally renowned artists such as Avishai Cohen, Alfa Mist, Christian Scott "Chief Adjuah," and Kenny Garrett.

CONCERTS 2025 Jazz à Vienne, Duc des Lombards, Juan les Pins Summer Session, Kultur Lokal Rank (CH), Cave de Versoix, Athens Jazz Festival (GR), Gaumes Jazz Festival (BE), Colmar Jazz Festival, Kathmandu Jazz Festival (NP)...
