A violinist, a cellist, a drummer-percussionist, and a singer-kora player. This is a bold formula where jazz, music from Senegal, and other bursts of classical music blend masterfully.
Momi Maiga was born in Casamance. Coming from the famous "Cissokho" family of musicians, he was nurtured by the rich musical tradition of Senegal and sings mainly in Mandinka and Wolof.
Two decades later and barely 28 years old, this kora virtuoso lives in Girona in northern Spain and is beginning to make quite a name for himself: 2 released albums, around a hundred concerts performed across Europe (Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France...), and fruitful collaborations (Youssou N'dour, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Jordi Savall, Rita Payés...).
Momi Maiga 4tet has been selected by the prestigious German fair Jazzahead in 2025.
